Audi is making a formidable statement at Auto Shanghai 2025, held from April 23 to May 2, with the unveiling of 19 models in collaboration with local partners FAW and SAIC. This showcase not only reinforces Audi’s leadership in both electric and combustion mobility but also signals a deepened commitment to the Chinese market.
Debut of AUDI E5 Sportback – A China-Exclusive Innovation
Topping the lineup is the debut of the AUDI E5 Sportback, the first production model from the new, China-only AUDI brand.

Embodying the design ethos “the best of both worlds,” this fully electric mid-size Sportback blends Audi’s distinctive coupe styling with a future-forward electric drivetrain. Market introduction is scheduled for late summer 2025.
A Quartet of Premieres: Tailored for China
Four additional models are making their global debut:
- Audi A6L e-tron: A locally-produced all-electric sedan set to roll out from the new Audi FAW NEV facility in Changchun, operational since December 2024.
- Audi A5L and Audi A5L Sportback: These new entries into the premium midsize segment highlight Audi’s focus on sporty elegance and everyday usability.
- Audi Q5L: A long-wheelbase SUV designed for superior comfort, space, and performance in urban China.
Shared Vision, Shared Space
In a first, Audi and its new AUDI brand will share a single exhibition space—Hall 5.1 H, Booth 5A03—featuring immersive experiences in electrification, quattro technology, and cutting-edge lighting.

The booth highlights Audi’s advancements in range, charging, and aerodynamics, along with a next-gen intelligent cockpit optimized for Chinese users.
