Polestar unveiled a broad upgrade for the 2026 model year of its Polestar 2, increasing its technology, design, and user interface. With an increased infotainment processor speed, an optional top-of-the-range audio system, a fresh new exterior color, and updated battery technology, the upgraded Polestar 2 is further establishing itself as a top electric vehicle in its class.
The newest version is on sale now to order in chosen European markets, with availability opening globally during the year.
Advanced Infotainment System with Quicker Processing
The most significant addition to the Polestar 2 is the availability of a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor chip, which vastly improves the car’s infotainment system. The new processor enables faster download speeds for in-car apps, better responsiveness for the center screen, and overall smoother user interaction.
Premium Bowers & Wilkins Audio System
For those for whom music matters, Polestar now makes available the Bowers & Wilkins for Polestar audio system as an optional installation. The leading-edge system uses 14 speakers with a 1,350 Watts total output.

The stand-out features of the system are Tweeter-on-Top technology to maximize clarity and accuracy, and Continuum midrange speakers to reduce distortion. Branded detailing on front door panels and stainless-steel mesh on the rear door panels are further refinements of the system’s luxurious feel.
New Exterior and Interior Look
A new external color choice, Dune, is added by Polestar, which is replacing the earlier Jupiter color. Dune is a modern metallic paint finish that boasts a silky smooth mica feel with a sandy color. A new five-spoke 20-inch forged alloy wheel is also added as an optional Performance Pack choice. Interior, the 2026 model year Polestar 2 can be optioned with a bio-attributed MicroTech upholstery in Charcoal with a unique quilting pattern and Black Ash deco, with the optional Plus Pack.
Seamless Charging with Plug & Charge
The 2026 Polestar 2 features Plug & Charge technology, similar to the convenience provided in the Polestar 3. The feature enables drivers to plug in the charging cable at a supporting public charging point, with the vehicle itself taking care of authentication and payment. This obviates the requirement for multiple charging cards or apps, making the charging process more convenient.

Polestar has also rolled out a new Prime Pack, which combines the Pilot, Plus, and Climate packs, and rear privacy glass in an economical package. The new tint application covers both the rear side windows and the tailgate window, further adding to the appearance and cabin privacy.
Battery and Range Improvements
A major upgrade has been done to the Standard Range Single Motor variant, where a new 70 kWh CATL battery has replaced the old 69 kWh LG Chem battery.

This upgrade has raised the range of the vehicle to 554 km (WLTP), an increase from 546 km, enhancing efficiency for long-distance travel even more.
The Bottom Line
The 2026 Polestar 2 further raises the bar on performance, technology, and sustainability. With a more intuitive infotainment system, a more immersive audio offering, more sophisticated design details, more effortless charging, and a better battery, the newest version of Polestar’s foundational EV is finer than ever. Available to order now in certain markets, the updated Polestar 2 is ready to deliver an even more irresistible electric driving experience.
