Automobili Lamborghini has officially introduced the Urus SE, its first plug-in hybrid Super SUV, in Mexico City. The exclusive unveiling took place at Atrio Santa Fe, with key executives including Chairman and CEO Stephan Winkelmann, Chief Marketing and Sales Officer Federico Foschini, and CEO of Lamborghini Americas Andrea Baldi in attendance. The event gathered Lamborghini’s esteemed clientele, luxury connoisseurs, and brand enthusiasts, highlighting the growing demand for the marque’s innovations in Mexico.

“Given the strong demand for the Urus in Mexico, it was important to personally bring the new model here to engage with our valued clients,” stated Winkelmann. Mexico accounts for 68% of Lamborghini’s sales in Latin America, with dealerships in Mexico City and Monterrey. The Urus SE starts at $300,000 USD, with deliveries commencing in Q2 2025. Buyers can personalize their Urus SE through Lamborghini’s Ad Personam customization program.
Electrification and Performance Enhancements
The Urus SE marks a milestone in Lamborghini’s transition towards full electrification. Alongside the Revuelto and the upcoming Temerario, it forms part of the brand’s fully electrified lineup launched by the end of 2024. Featuring an 800-CV hybrid powertrain, the Urus SE delivers an 80% reduction in emissions while maintaining the thrilling performance expected from a Lamborghini.

Powered by a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine paired with a 25-kWh lithium-ion battery, the Urus SE accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds, outperforming the Urus S (3.5 seconds). The SUV reaches a top speed of 312 km/h, compared to 305 km/h in the Urus S. The integration of a permanent-magnet synchronous electric motor within the 8-speed automatic transmission enhances both power and efficiency. Additionally, the Urus SE can operate as a fully electric 4WD vehicle, offering a range of over 60 km in EV mode.
The Bottom Line
With the Urus SE, Lamborghini elevates its best-selling Super SUV to unprecedented levels of performance and sustainability. As the marque advances its electrification strategy, the Urus SE stands as a testament to the brand’s ability to harmonize raw power with eco-conscious engineering.

Lamborghini’s success extends beyond electrification. In 2024, the company set a new sales record, delivering 10,687 vehicles globally—an impressive 6% increase over 2023. These achievements further solidify Lamborghini’s dominance in the luxury automotive sector, reinforcing its trajectory of innovation and strategic growth. This new chapter in Lamborghini’s legacy not only satisfies the evolving demands of discerning buyers but also reaffirms the company’s leadership in the high-performance luxury automotive market.
