Hyundai Motor Company has unveiled the highly anticipated IONIQ 9, an all-electric three-row SUV set to redefine long-range performance, spacious refinement, and cutting-edge technology.

As the latest addition to Hyundai’s award-winning IONIQ lineup, this flagship model marks a significant step in the brand’s vision to introduce 21 EVs by 2030.
Spacious and Versatile Interior
Designed to offer a roomy and lounge-style cabin, IONIQ 9 emphasizes comfort, versatility, and practicality. The flat floor and flexibly designed seats accommodate up to seven passengers, with relaxation seats in the first and second rows.

Hyundai also introduces the Dynamic Body Care system, which is equipped with a touch massage function for enhanced passenger comfort. A standout feature in some markets is the ground-breaking Swiveling Seats which allow second- and third-row occupants to turn their seats face-to-face during parking.

Space is another strength, with the IONIQ 9 offering 1,323 liters of trunk space when the third row is folded and 620 liters when all rows are full. There is also an 88-liter front trunk (frunk) on rear-wheel-drive (RWD) and 52-liter frunk on all-wheel-drive (AWD) models.
Intelligent Climate Control for Comfort and Efficiency
IONIQ 9’s cutting-edge HVAC system provides the best range efficiency with optimal passenger comfort. The utilization of a heat pump recycles waste heat to maintain cabin temperature without unnecessary battery draining. A remote preconditioning ventilation system for pre-heating before moving also maximizes energy consumption.

Phenomenally designed to perform in extreme conditions, the system ensures over 400 km of driving range even at -7°C. The second and third-row climate control operates independently, reducing unnecessary energy consumption when seats are unoccupied. Hyundai’s state-of-the-art EV route planner further enhances efficiency by optimizing travel routes and charging schedules.
Long-Range Performance and Aerodynamic Excellence
Built on Hyundai’s E-GMP architecture, the IONIQ 9 is powered by a robust 110.3 kWh battery, delivering an impressive WLTP-estimated range of up to 620 km. Three motor configurations cater to diverse performance needs:
Long-Range RWD: 215 hp motor, 0-100 km/h in 9.4 seconds
Long-Range AWD: 215 hp rear + 94 hp front motor, 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds
Performance AWD: 215 hp front + 215 hp rear motors, from 0-100 km/h in just 5.2 seconds

Efficiency too is enhanced by the active air flap (AAF) system, reducing aerodynamic drag to just 0.259 Cd. The ground-breaking dual-motion AAF mechanism transitions between open and shut smoothly, with minimal air resistance and maximum cooling efficiency.
Ultra-Fast Charging and V2L Capabilities
Charging is a breeze with Hyundai’s 800V ultra-fast charging technology, enabling the IONIQ 9 to recharge from 10% to 80% in just 24 minutes using a 350 kW charger.

Additionally, the vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability allows users to power external devices, reinforcing the IONIQ 9’s role as a versatile energy hub.
The Bottom Line
Not just an electric SUV, the Hyundai IONIQ 9 is a statement of refinement, innovation, and efficiency. With ample room on the inside, smart climate control, outstanding range, and class-leading charging, the IONIQ 9 sets the standard for EVs.

As Hyundai keeps pushing boundaries for sustainable mobility, the IONIQ 9 is an unstoppable game-changer for the automobile industry.
