Geely Mexico has presented the Geely Cityray to the market, further highlighting the brand’s bold vision for the Mexican SUV market. Under the “Make the Difference” banner, the Cityray is crafted to meet the demands of an ever-changing customer profile in a country that is witnessing steady growth.
Where Innovation Meets Modernity
Built on Geely’s advanced BMA platform, the Cityray is a global co-founding effort of more than 100 experts from 20 countries. It runs on a 172-horsepower engine and is 4.5 meters long, reflective of efficiency, performance, and technological innovation.

The rather bolder exterior design is inspired by the bigger sibling, Geely Starray, with a three-dimensional grille for the front, sleek LED lighting throughout, turbine-style aluminum wheels, and striking arrowhead-shaped taillights. The interior offers connectivity and safety features that can fulfill the requirements of modern drivers.
Collaboration with Club América High-Point Launch Event
The mascots of Club América will animate the unveiling of Cityray by Geely Auto, that will continue the sponsorship. The Commercial Director of Club América, Thomas Hernandez, highly appreciated the SUV and declared that the captain of the women’s football team would drive the Cityray for one month. The agreement is indicative of Geely’s increasing focus on brand interaction in Mexico.
Growth and Development Ambitions
General Director of Geely México, Tony Chi, disclosed a rather aggressive plan for 2025: selling 25,000 units and growing the distributor network to 100 dealers, ensuring that the country’s 32 states are covered. The company is also going to improve its Geely Go platform, allowing co-creative experiences for users in terms of a relationship beyond automobile ownership.
