Vietnamese Nasdaq-listed automaker VinFast has officially entered the Indian market with its first electric vehicles, the VF 6 and VF 7, at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.

This marks a historic moment for the company, profoundly emphasizing their effort to enhance the transition of India towards electric mobility and sustainability.
New Age of Electric SUVs
VinFast has selected the VF 6 and VF 7 as its inaugural models for India. These all-electric SUVs are crafted to cater to the growing demand for high-quality, smart, and modern electric vehicles (EVs) in the Indian market.

The company points out that the models will be the first right-hand drive versions of the VF 6 and VF 7 specifically designed for the Indian market. The company foresees these models to become pivotal actors in a new standard of green mobility within the country.
Philosophy behind the VF 6 and VF 7
The VF 6, a B-segment SUV, is inspired by the idea of “The Duality In Nature,” balancing elements that oppose one another to give a car that is both sophisticated and fun to drive.

In contrast, the C-segment VF 7 is inspired by the “Asymmetric Aerospace” philosophy, giving the car a strong exterior and a driver-focused interior. Its robust design integrates intelligent attributes that enhance the overall driving experience.
VinFast’s Indian Vision
Pham Sanh Chau, VinFast Asia’s CEO, noted that this groundbreaking launch was extremely important and explained it as, “Our appearance at the Bharat Mobility Show 2025 is a milestone in our efforts to sell premium SUVs VF 6 and VF 7 as game changers for the Indian EV market.”

Mr. Ashwin Ashok Patil, Deputy CEO of Sales – Marketing at VinFast India added, “The SUVs are slated to hit the market by the second half of 2025 while it will establish dealer networks in all major Indian towns.
Indian Expansion Plans
Further testifying the marque’s unwavering commitment to the Indian market, is its game-changing investment in a new electric vehicle manufacturing plant. Situated in the port city of Thoothukudi in the state Tamil Nadu, its ground was broken in 2024. The new facility intends to add significantly to VinFast’s global capacity for manufacturing, while duly satisfying India’s rapidly growing demand for EVs.
