To commemorate the Year of the Dragon, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars proudly introduces the Phantom Extended Dragon – a one of one bespoke creation, commissioned by a distinguished Chinese patron.

In an immaculate blend of ancient Chinese mythology and contemporary luxury, this single piece will evoke the mythical tale of the two dragons and their celestial pearl.
A Legend Redescribed
Inspired by a 3,000-year-old legend, Phantom Dragon pays homage to the story of two benevolent dragons, whose selfless devotion and loyalty earned them a place in heaven through divine pearls.

Their submission and harmony personify the attributes of benevolence and equilibrium that are quintessential to both Chinese culture and Rolls-Royce’s renowned craftsmanship.
Creating Mythology in Motion
The interior of this Phantom Dragon, painstakingly put together by the Private Office in Shanghai, vibrantly emanates tradition and innovation. There’s a gallery at its core marquetry which comprises 297 hand-cut pieces of veneer to make for an otherworldly sight of dragons swaying amidst clouds. The three-month-long craft saw Sycamore, Ash Burr, and Black Bolivar veneers meld into the smoked Eucalyptus, giving an illusion of depth and motion.

The Starlight Headliner takes this remarkable artistry to new heights, featuring two dragons in an abstract dance within the celestial realm. The 1,344 fiber-optic lights it features include red and white constellations and 24 shooting stars. This truly awe-inspiring collection gracefully captures the mythic splendor of this timeless tale.
A Bespoke Symphony of Elegance
Beyond its symbolic artistry, the Phantom Dragon is a testament to Rolls-Royce’s hallmark attention to detail. Its Iced Diamond Black exterior exudes a refined shimmer, while the opulent interior harmonizes Ardent Red and black leathers, complemented by Smoked Eucalyptus wood finishes.

Personal touches, such as the client’s family name embroidered in traditional Chinese calligraphy, elegantly underscore the intimate nature of this commission.
East Meets West in Bespoke Excellence
As a testament to the marque’s presence in China, the Phantom Dragon sheds light on this country’s rich cultural heritage through the lens of international sophistication. Rolls-Royce’s private office in Shanghai bridges this cultural synergy, creating masterpieces that resonate well with discerning clients while celebrating global appeal to bespoke luxury.

This one-off creation falls during the centenary year of the Phantom nameplate, also marking the ending of the lunar Year of the Dragon. Through this bespoke creation, Rolls-Royce presents a flawless quintessence of timeless craftsmanship, along with the utmost cultural respect.
