BMW M GmbH enters the 13th consecutive year of sales record triumph. The brand delivered 206,582 vehicles to customers worldwide in 2024, surpassing the 200,000-unit mark for the first time just twelve months ago. This is another formidable indicator of the outstanding high-performance character of BMW’s relentless M models, all powertrains, model categories, and regions included.
BMW i4 M50: The Leader
For the third time in a row, the BMW i4 M50, an all-electric vehicle, was the leading BMW M. This Gran Coupé model with electric drive on both axles puts out a total of 544 hp and offers the traditional BMW M performance of agility, precision, and dynamics. A range of up to 522 kilometers (WLTP) places the i4 M50 at the forefront of its class for an electric vehicle with a high-performance orientation.

Apparently, the technology-neutral approach of BMW M has struck a chord well with its customers. “The high demand for both gasoline-powered and electric models shows that our strategy drives us to record results,” said Sylvia Neubauer, Head of Customer, Brand, and Sales at BMW M GmbH.
BMW M high-performance models had massive growth in 2024, with sales spearheaded by the revised BMW M2, M3 Touring, and the electrified BMW XM. The BMW M2 sold very well, increasing sales by 64%, thus being established as a compact force featuring a M TwinPower Turbo straight-six powerplant that produces up to 480 hp. Similarly, the BMW M3 Touring showed a great deal of sales increase with 57%.

BMW XM, the marque’s first fully electrified high-performance model, has registered an increase of 16% sales. Its top-of-the-line variant, the Label Red, achieves performance output up to 748 hp, thanks to the mighty M HYBRID system. Up until now, 2024 was marked with a growth in the sales of high-performance cars of BMW M by 8% to 66,805 units.
Establishing BMW M’s Domineering Market Leadership

“We are number one with a clear lead,” the chairman of the board of management of BMW M GmbH said. “This motivates us to do another strong performance in 2025, taking into account challenging economic conditions.”
BMW’s Ambitious Expansion Dreams
Until 2025, BMW M will continue expanding its model portfolio with special-edition models as well as update cycles for the combustion engine, plug-in hybrids, and electric vehicle.

The BMW M3 pure electric is now in development; this means BMW M remains a leader in further technological development on the performance and high-performance roads.
Success at Race Events
BMW M Motorsport had very good success stories in 2024, one of which includes the podium for the GT3 class of 24 Hours of Le Mans with BMW M Hybrid V8. Over 1,000 races around the world during 2024 brought 215 victories with BMW M Hybrid V8, M4 GT3, and M4 GT4.

The customer racing program BMW M Motorsport is eyeing the prospects for 2025 through an increase in customer programs of EVO versions of BMW M4 GT3 and BMW M4 GT4.
