As per an announcement made on the 20th of August 2024 in Delhi, India’s leading automotive manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) has decided to introduce Electronic Stability Program+ (ESP) as standard across its passenger vehicle lineup. The announcement has been made as a part of the brand’s initiative to elevate safety standards of its existing passenger cars. This has started with popular cars like S-Presso and Alto K10, where customers can avail access to this vital safety feature at no additional cost. By introducing this game-changing upgrade, Maruti-Suzuki aims at integrating passenger safety with advanced technology.

The Electronic Stability Program+ (ESP+) system is a technology that seamlessly amalgamates three vital safety features, namely the Traction Control System (TCS), Stability Control (SC) and most importantly, the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS). This comes integrated with a network of functional sensors which helps the vehicle flawlessly adjust its trajectory through the assistance of an electronic control unit, which precisely monitors the vehicle’s motion. This plays a crucial role in upscaling the vehicle’s overall control and stability, carefully counterbalancing skidding movements.

As told by Mr. Partho Banerjee, the Senior Executive Officer of Marketing & Sales at Maruti Suzuki India Limited, the standardised incorporation of Electronic Stability Program+ aims at democratizing pioneering safety features and superior driving confidence across its Indian passenger lineup. This way, irrespective of the vehicle chosen, all Indian customers can inclusively experience this advanced safety feature. This testifies Maruti Suzuki’s unwavering commitment towards delivering high-quality vehicles with superior safety features, while keenly catering to the varied needs of an Indian customer.
In addition to the above, the Maruti Suzuki portfolio’s standard safety suite also includes EBD, dual front airbags, hill-hold assist, reverse parking sensors, a robust HEARTECT Platform, a collapsible steering column, engine immobilizer, and 12 other key features.
