As per an announcement made on the 24th of July in Gurugram, the Nissan Motor India Pvt. Ltd has officially unveiled their all-new X-TRAIL in the Indian market. This, not just marks the X-TRAIL’s much-anticipated comeback, following a significant break from the Indian market, but also marks the beginning of Nissan’s strategic expansion in India. As told by Saurabh Vatsa, the Managing Director of Nissan Motor India, this re-entry would pave way for the groundbreaking Completely Built Unit (CBU) Business in India. This aims at setting elevated standards in India’s premium urban SUV segment by promising to introduce vehicles of top-notch quality.

With a whopping 7.8 million units sold worldwide, the top-performing Nissan X-TRAIL has always been a beacon of productivity and customer satisfaction alike. This undefeated reign is proudly carried forward by the 4th generation of this vehicle as well. Ranking itself among the top five bestselling SUVs of 2023 in the global stage, the X-TRAIL has always remained a class apart from its rivals. Meticulously crafted to cater to the needs of an Indian buyer, this Japanese-made automobile aims at unifying versatility and sophistication. Frank Torres, the President of Nissan India Operations and the Divisional Vice President of AMIEO Region Business Transformation, views India as a strategic market for Nissan, further committing to offer the Indian buyers only the best of the automotive brand’s SUV portfolio.

At the heart of the latest X-TRAIL lies a coming-of-age 1.5L, three-cylinder, Petrol Variable Compression-Turbo engine boasting flattering compression ratios between 8:1 and 14:1, which carefully optimizes performance and fuel economy. This, when clubbed with the Nissan’s iconic 3rd Generation XTRONIC CVT transmission, churns out modest power figures of 163 PS and a torque of 300 Nm. In addition to that, the new X-TRAIL would also be Nissan’s flagship model in India to feature their signature ALiS Mild Hybrid Technology, a powertrain revered for its unflinching dedication and adherence to the global sustainability trends. This significantly brings down the car’s carbon emissions while significantly refining its fuel economy. When all this comes together in the X-TRAIL, the drivers are rewarded with a motoring experience that is no less than exhilarating.

The fact that the X-TRAIL is a testament to Nissan’s unparallelled innovational prowess in the world of SUVs is not new to the enthusiasts. This is well-evident from the eye-catching features of the new X-TRAIL’s exterior, which include a V-motion grille, muscular wheel arches and an elegant floating roof. This is beautifully reflected into its practical and sophisticated interior as well, which features a premium cabin with a spacious 7-seat layout and numerous storage options. This makes it a reason for the X-TRAIL to be loved unconditionally by any Indian family. Other notable amenities offered by the car comprise premium R20 diamond-cut alloy wheels and a remarkable 31.2 cm high-resolution Advanced Driver Display with an Around View Monitor. Last but not the least, the X-TRAIL features an astonishing 7 airbags, leaving no stones unturned in offering safety to its passengers.
